This release has one set of symphonic poems inspired by Moby-Dick, and a short string quartet.

The Moby-Dick sinfonietta is meant to evoke the feelings and atmosphere of their namesakes, and not necessarily any specific events that happen in the book. They should be understood first as music and then in relation to their program. I have attempted, though not entirely succeeded, to write it naively, each piece generally focusing on a couple simple techniques of development to the exclusion of others.

The string quartets are not inspired by anything and are meant to be pure or "absolute" music.
